Modularity
Spectra® IV SE is designed for ease of installation and maintenance. Each dome system consists of three components: a back box, a dome drive and a bottom dome. These three system components are interchangeable with other Spectra IV dome systems, simplifying fine-tuning and application adjustments. In addition, dome units and lower domes can be removed and replaced, reducing maintenance time.
Back box
Spectra IV’s back box options include the following models: flush ceiling environmental (ideal for exterior fittings), flush interior, interior with surface support, standard pendant and environmental, heavy duty, pressurized and stainless steel. Each back box model has back box memory for storing site-specific camera and dome settings, including labels, pre-positionings, patterns and zones. A passive UTP circuit is located in the door assembly for convenient video transmission via a twisted pair of wires. To increase flexibility, Pelco’s fiber modules can also be attached to the port assembly for transmission over a single-mode or multi-mode fiber.
Dome drive
The Spectra IV dome drive’s integrated optical package incorporates many advanced features that allow the system to produce high-quality video in the toughest environments. The day/night camera features 18X optical zoom and 12X digital zoom. The color camera is equipped with 16X optical zoom and 18X digital zoom. Both cameras in the Spectra IV dome units feature LowLight™ technology, allowing the cameras to compensate for scenes where minimal light is present. The camera also offers pre-positioning between freeze frame and window inhibition.
Lower dome
An important but commonly overlooked component of a high-speed dome system is the relationship between the dome dome and the camera lens. Special consideration was given when designing the dome of the Spectra IV’s lower dome to ensure that an excellent optical relationship between the lenses and the dome was achieved, providing clear video at long focal lengths.
Dome systems
Spectra IV dome systems have many software improvements that increase performance and make programming and operation easier. An internal programming clock allows you to program pre-positionings and routines. Window inhibition allows a user to program a user-defined private area on four sides. Password protection prevents unauthorized users from changing system settings. An on-screen compass and tilt dial provide positioning information when it is needed. The intuitive multilingual on-screen programming can be displayed in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Russian, Polish, Turkish and Czech.
In Spectra IV, the variable speed capabilities oscillate from a smooth and fast panoramic movement of 400 degrees per second to a “stealthy” and smooth speed of 0.1 degrees per second. The system is capable of continuous 360-degree rotation and has an “auto flip” feature that makes the dome rotate 180 degrees and reposition itself to provide an uninterrupted view of any object or person passing directly under it.
The optional diagnostic or installation tools (IPS-RMK and IPS-CABLE) allow the installer to view video, control PTZ and carry out system configuration and software upgrades at the installation site.
